Like me, you may have seen some posts in the last couple weeks that said Tumblr was implementing a new chat feature, that showed a little green circle in tumblr messaging when someone’s online recently. Just like FB messenger has.
Like me, you might also have been confused by the posts, due to never actually seeing the feature in action or seeing an option to disable it.
BUT IT’S NOW LIVE. IT IS ON BY DEFAULT.

If you’d prefer to turn it off, you can do so in settings:
