elvenavari replied to your post: How is everyone doing this evening?

I got my big girl pants on. Just finished filing my taxes. Woot, woot.

Well look at you, Ms Fancy Big Girl Responsible Pants.

I have not, omg. I’m afraid. This year is going to be such a pain - it is the first year my husband and I are filing together, I was on unemployment for half the year, and had 3 jobs for the other half. I am… I am really not looking forward to it even a little.

I have so far! Hubby woke me up this morning with candles stuck in ice cream sandwiches. xD

It was adorable. And then he sneaked a cake into my office right under my nose and I didn’t even see him.

Nuuu! We need more!

I’m sure there will be more eventually! I just don’t have it on my immediate to-do list. :D

3. Is there a trope you wouldn’t touch with a 10-foot pole?

My hard no’s for writing are underage and non-con. There are some kinks that I won’t write as well. I can’t think of any tropes off the top of my head except maybe things like “Kill the woman/POC character to advance the white guy’s plot.”

17. Do you write your story from start to finish, or do you write scenes out of order?

Depends on how cooperative my muse is being! In the last year or two, I’ve gotten into the practice of writing very detailed outlines directly on the writing document, and sometimes writing scenes out of order if one scene/chapter is giving me trouble. It’s freeing to get away from that feeling that things have to be written in order, and you can’t write the thing at point G until you get through A-F. It has resulted in a lot fewer perpetual WiPs, and I’ve been overall happier with my stories as a result.

35. Would you ever kill of a canon character?

Depends on the character and why they need to die. I’m pretty fond of killing off bad guys and assholes.

This is actually something I’ve been thinking about, off and on, for a while. When I first started writing fanfiction there was a prevailing practice that you had to kill off/get rid of the female love interest(s) of your m/m ship characters, or otherwise prove that those men never loved their girlfriends, or that their girlfriends never loved them (this was often achieved by having the woman cheat, or do something really vicious to justify him leaving her in a way that made him the victim).

I was about 11 or 12 when I first started writing fanfiction and I didn’t question it - it was just what you had to do so you could get on with the rest of the story (There are many more reasons why this was/is a thing in m/m ff, but I won’t go on). So there were a lot of early stories I wrote where the first chapter begins with some method of getting rid of the girl. Once I realized that it was 100000% unnecessary, I haven’t had many occasions to kill off (non-bad guy) canon characters, and I don’t read stories that do treat their female characters that way.

This sounds so gross to me…but then I don’t like PB&J together.

On top of everything, it was watermelon flavored pop tarts and peach jam. (I was actually a bit annoyed about the peach jam because it was so yummy, and a bit expensive, so I would have preferred that he’d used something else for his WTF sandwich).

Aaah! xD

5 favorite characters: Alice, Carlisle, Sam, Billy, Seth

3 OTPs: Carlisle/Esme, Billy+Charlie, Jacob/Edward.

Funniest character: Seth

Prettiest character: Jacob

Most badass character: Alice

Character I’d like as my BFF: I’m pretty tempted to say Rosalie, but I think she’d get on my nerves in a hurry, so probably Alice or Carlisle

Character that’s ruined my life: all of them, though not necessarily in good ways. xD

From the sentinel story (I’m finding all the words here today)

He took control of the terminal, leaned back in his chair, and pretended that he was at a board meeting where old arcade games were often more productive than paying attention

From the ABO story:

It made his skin tingle and stomach give a nervous jerk to keep his neck and back exposed to another alpha, but Tony didn’t let biological urges control the way he interacted with people.

From the Steve-the-Cop AU:

It had been years since he’d been touched this way, and it took all of his self-control not to just drop to his knees on his doorstep and pull Tony’s pants down for any passerby to see.

Send me a word, if it’s in my wip document I’ll answer your ask with the sentence that it appears in. If I can’t find the word, I’ll write a sentence for it.
