To be fair, you can kind of ‘follow’ someone by joining their community, and then you get updates on the most popular posts in the community on your ‘dash’ - but it definitely isn’t like Tumblr where you scroll through your dash and see all the posts of everyone you’re following - for that you would have to go to each community you’re a part of and check on them. You can also track individual posts, though I haven’t done that yet, so I don’t know exactly what that does - I’m assuming you then get notifications when that post updates.
The lack of the reblog/share function is unfortunate. :( The site is definitely designed with different functions in mind. It’s a little closer to LiveJournal in that respect.
