so there is a story here, but it’s not mine to tell. call it maybe the AU where Clint never left the circus? that’ll get you in the right place, more or less. peeking in through the fence if not on the midway proper. close enough to hear the music if the wind is favorable.
this is a commission for the incredibly awesome @thepresidentisnude; it is her story, she wrote the incredible poetry [x] that set the tone for the whole painting, so if you love it (IS IT NOT SPLENDID??) please do tell her so!

statistically speaking, given tony stark’s RORFFK (Rate of Reading Fanmail From Kids), there’s an 100% chance he received and read the right letter just in time to say “yes” to a neglected or orphaned kid’s request that he picked them up on “bring your child to work” day
Bonus points if it’s a little girl and they both rock sparkly nail polish and transistor stickers.
